If you can work with Windows registry, try deleting cached hostkey of the server from:
HKCU\Software\Martin Prikryl\WinSCP 2\SshHostKeys

Also try prioritizing RSA at:

I've added the log as requested.

Also I've added a screenshot of 2 logs on a different client, to the same host, highlighting the differences between the logs in red - showing a potential issue with key types. There might be an issue with the key type used? Although why I don't understand, as on the left I connect successfully via www. full name, but on the right I try and fail to connect via IP address.

I'm a newbie to this SFTP! Many thanks for your help.

I think the problem is: How do I define the hostkey, since it doesn't ask me?

Re: Server's host key is invalid

Please attach a full session log file showing the problem (using the latest version of WinSCP).

To generate the session log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you can mark the attachment as private.

Server's host key is invalid

How do I fix this error: "Server's host key is invalid".

I am using WinSCP 6.5.5 on a Windows 11 PC, connecting to a CoreFTP Server on a Windows 7 PC. I can connect to the same server using a CoreFTP client, but not WinSCP. I can connect to a different server on a Windows 11 PC using WinSCP.

I was expecting to be shown a warning message saying the server's host key is not cached, showing me the server's key fingerprint, and asking if I trusted it and wanted to continue, but all I get is "Server's host key is invalid".

Thanks.
