i've tried every combination of upload settings, and i'm unable to upload/replace without encountering the dialogue box after each transfer.

Can you suggest anything i might try to resolve the problem?

Out of curiosity, I tried the same thing with FileZilla and it works ok, but there are a number of features FileZilla doesnt have which WinSCP does. Suffice to say I'd like to continue to use WinSCP.

Any suggestions?

You have disabled option "preserve timestamp", but not not "set permissions". Unless you are using synchronize command, which forces the "preserve timestamp", because it won't work without it.

Only if the server replies "access denied". But it replies "operation not supported".

Definitely not a permissions problem on the destination file, as I am the owner and have full control. I've double checked this.
