Apparently the host did not have the file available as WinSCP said something to that effect after OK'ng the error dialog.

This error popped up while configuring a connection over FTPS to a MyCloud NAS.
It happened after giving the password to login and the SSL fingerprint screen came up.
I needed to copy the Self Signed certificate fingerprint to the clipboard so I can use it on another device. I don't know if the time taken to do so, about 5 mins as I was configuring another access that needed the fingerprint.

I'm trying to download a driver from HP's FTP site and since web browsers no longer support FTP, it prompts me to open with a program. So I clicked this one, and it prompted me for a login. Using blank creds didn't work, so I clicked the link again and typed in "anonymous" instead for the username. It didn't prompt for password this time but seemed like it connected then game this error, and now I'm reporting it.

I clicked on an ftp link <ftp://ftp.zedz.net/incoming/NewsProxy_1.2.4.txt> in a Usenet message.
WinSCP opened and promoted for credentials.
I entered credentials for anonymous FTP.
WinSCP appeared to be accessing the server to download the file.
An error dialog appeared saying "Invalid access to memory".

If I click OK there is another dialog saying
"Can't get attributes of file '/incoming/NewsProxy_1.2.4.txt'."
"Could not retrieve file information"
"Could not get file size."
When I try to repeat, I only get this second dialog.

This was the first time I tried putting an sftp URL (sftp://10.50.64.195/var/SharedStorage/hc_reports/79ef2d5f-34b2-4a00-abbe-4b5df06086af.json) into my Chrome browser, after installing WinSCP.
The download worked (a simple 5KB text file), but a pop-up window reported the memory access error.
